I am not sure where this will go but I don’t want to get locked into a core topic. I live in Te Waipounamu, the South Island of New Zealand. Adrift between the Great Ocean of Kiwa to the east and Te Tai o Rehua to the west, that is to say the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea. On these pages I hope in time to share my experiences and interests past and present in various ways, as well as provide a platform for sharing the photos I have taken over the years.
I have been around long enough to get some grey hair and lose a fair bit of it too. I currently live not far from Christchurch on a lifestyle block with my partner. Because she has Norwegian heritage and a passion for horses, we call it Hestebu which can be roughly translated as living with horses.
I am passionate about nature and the environment, photography, growing things and I am now learning some skills in traditional crafts. I have had the good fortune to work for many years in National Parks and the larger Conservation estate from facilities such as huts to working as a botanist/ecologist.
